Mr A.: What are you, a fucking owl?

the point is that electability does go a long way and is more than just an empty, descriptive phrase.

Did you even read what I wrote? I wasn't saying that electability was meaningless, I was trying to say that electability is why a candidate who no one seemed to really like, ended up winning the nomination.

Comments:
YOU ARE THE ONE WHO IS THE FUCKING OWL!!!! Sorry that's my Jay impression from Jay and Silent Bob...
My point is that the nomination of Kerry was not "pulled out of a hat" but rather because of those qualities that electability entail i.e. experience, image, etc. I agree with you that Kerry was nominated because of it, but I disagree with your claim that Kerry is is the nominee no one likes. Kerry's approval ratings were high (and he definately didn't have the high disapproval ratings Dean did) in Iowa, he ran a positive campaign while Gerphardt and Dean alienated potential voters with their nasty ads. Also, though the dramatic win for Kerry in Iowa seemed shocking to the rest of us, Iowans were very much more familiar with him than the rest of the country.

Oh by the way my friend Heidi told me to tell you she likes your blog...she says you're funny...

Mr. A, I will make you eat my shit, then shit out my shit, and eat your shit, that is made up of my shit!
